Hail Dragons,

Thank you very much for the warm welcome you all gave me upon my return yesterday, it means a lot to me. I am very glad to be back, but I have urgent news that weighs heavily on my heart. Just to quench your curiosiy I'll recount the escape as I remember it...

We (Kestra, Talis and I) were all being held in a stone room unlike any other I had seen. Kestra and Talis were under a very intense form of mind control. They were both visibly resistant from what I could tell, but when any of the Gresh'Maj made a direct command their bodies had no choice but to obey. I, on the other hand, didn't respond to well to their form of mind control. Warriors such as myself are usualy highly resistant to magic so they relied on good old fashioned imprisonment to keep me in line. They kept me chained to the wall for the most part, and didn't really feed me very much so I couldn't keep my strength for any long period of time.

All that I saw at first of the place we were held was the grey, stone room we were kept in. It was perfectly cubical and smooth on all sides. Whenever one of the Gresh'Maj entered they did so through an oval shaped doorway in the wall directly across from us. The only one I saw regularly was Cyrgon, who had been tasked with delivering our food. I guess they needed us alive to be sacrificed for their ritual.

One day when Cyrgon entered the room he wasn't carrying the small sack of rations and water he usualy kept with him. Instead he was fully armored, brandishing a sculled shield and a wickedly pointed mace. He laid his weapons aside and began an encantation that I couldn't understand. He spread some odd powder around us that began to glow a deep blue. Then there was a bright flash and the three of us, along with Cyrgon were standing free. My chains had fallen aside and Kestra and Talis were free from their state of mind control.

Cyrgon bade us to follow him and we all exited through the ovular doorway and passed into what seemed to be a council room. It was made of the same bleak, gret stone as our cell and had a large granite table resting in the center. The room was rectangular shaped... at one end was our cell and the other end housed a tall mirror that rested on some type of alter. Our weapons and armor were spread before us on the table and Cyrgon instructed us to equip ourselves quickly. Talis and I gathered up our gear and helped Kestra arm herself as best she could (her sight is still gone, teken by the Gresh'Maj).

We positioned ourselves in front of the mirror which began to glow. Cyrgon began to recite a command in a language I do not know and that same deep blue glow began to radiate from the mirror. Cyrgon told us to brace ourselves, and that we would be transported out of here. Another bright flash erupted from the mirror and I stood ready to be taken home. When the light receded we had gone no where... and before us stood Chakrar, Rashara, Naguuk and Syneva. Instantly we were bpmbarded with a powerful surge of mental energy.

Talis and Kestra immediately stood up straight, succombing to the incredibly intense spell cast in unison by the Gresh'Maj. Once again they were at the mercy of Chakrar. I collapsed to the floor, completely tapped by the mental assault but not overcome. In a daze, I struggled to my feet but could not find the strength to attack. I felt Cyrgon's hands grab my shoulders from behind and litteraly hurl both me and himself toward that mirror. With yet another blinding flash we were vaulted through the portal and tossed into the dusty, common grounds of West Freeport.

I was still floundering to get to my feet but my mind was in shambles. I dropped to my knees in a state of comlete confusion, trying to figure out which way was up and what weapon to hold in which hand. It was then I saw several more flashes and the four Gresh'Maj appeared behind us. Cyrgon lept to his feet and cried out in defiance at Chakrar... ten the battle ensued.

Cyrgon charged at the Gresh'Maj, obviously trying to by time for me to recover... but alas, he was no match for them. I heard him cry out to Erollisi as Naguuk's bolts of lightning sent his broken and charred body through the air to fall at my feet. It was then that a blind rage took hold of me and I attacked in every way I knew how...

The Gresh'Maj must not have expected my assault, for it took them by complete surprise. In unison they broke and ran towards the East Commonlands but I persued them. When I finaly caught up they turned and unleashed another wave of mental energy towards me. With nothing but fury guiding my actions I shrugged off the assault and made a charge for Chakrar, my Sword aimed for his throat. He cried out in defiance, casting at me, trying to break my momentum. After several volleys of spells and slashes he broke and ran...

The other three quickly attacked to stop me from chasing down and finishing their wounded leader. With only a few quick exchanges I felled one and sent the other two scrambling for their lives. It was at this moment that Falaanla and Karisma arrived, hearing the comotion from a distance and rushing to my aid. The Gresh'Maj managed to scoop up the body of their kinsman and retreat to safety.........................................

That is basicaly all that happened. I am back now, but Kestra, Talis and apparently now Syneva are still being held. While I was imprisoned I heard many conversations by the Gresh'Maj and Chakrar. I have much news and many troubles of which to tell you. So... I am calling a meeting of ALL GUILDS to meet at the Tigers Roar Inn in Highpass Hold. The meeting will be held at 10PM EST on Tuesday, October 26th. I urge all guild leaders as well as representatives to attend this urgent call to arms!

Sincerely, VanZant BraveSword
