Experience

2010 - present     Principal, Berfield Productions  
Independent production support for Web and App development. Currently partnering with 2B LLC on multiple projects including the Web sites and iPhone/iPad app for Lost Souls: Burning Sky.

 

2008 – 2009       Executive Producer, Smith & Tinker, Inc.  
Turned around product development for Nanovor. Brought all development in house, established test, release, and support teams, re-defined development processes and goals, introduced an agile approach and drove the team to ship a connected gaming experience for children composed of a hand-held game device, PC Game client, back end services and Web presence in time to make the holiday season. Developed Live team processes to deliver code updates, game content and weekly animation releases. Created and maintained company Wiki site for tracking all internal and external schedules and resources. Reviewed bids and negotiated contract for all outsourced art production.

2006 – 2008       Lead Program Manager, Xbox Live Arcade, Microsoft Corporation
Coordinated Test, Localization, Release Management, and Internal Development resources to support external partners through full product cycles to ship a dozen games in 18 months including several top sellers. Drove process improvements in Arcade title approval, business planning, and strategic investments. Led crash development of vision enabled titles to ship coincident with camera release. Set the standards and wrote white paper on best practices for vision enabled XBLA games. Drove planning and development required to support LIVE Marketplace Games On Demand. Built and managed team SharePoint site as a central repository for projects, schedules, event and resource tracking.

2000 – 2006       Xbox and Xbox 360 3rd Party Account Manager, Microsoft Corporation
Established the Xbox Incubator and Registered Developer programs which enabled many new/smaller developers to work on the Xbox platform. Championed and defined process and requirements and created functional specifications for the Xbox and Xbox 360 Game Demo programs – something new to the video games industry. Evangelized publishers on Microsoft technology and products through the launch of Xbox, Xbox LIVE, and the introduction of the Xbox 360. Acted as the publisher’s voice to Certification and Release Management to guarantee games shipped on schedule at a high quality level.

1997 – 1999       Executive Producer, Electric Planet, Inc.
Drove product development for consumer products based on an Interval Research group’s computer vision technology. Managed brainstorming and product ideation session with research and product teams. Established and led all aspects of internal and external product development for vision-enabled children’s games. Built three internal title development teams and negotiated development deals with external partners. Initiated test and approval processes for core technology and product teams. Negotiated a multi-million dollar investment from Intel’s entertainment venture fund. Ultimately shipped the Me2Cam digital camera and software with IntelPlay.
