A Simple Manual Barn Door Tracker
(aka "Scotch Mount")
I built this tracker from the plans in "Making and Enjoying Astronomical Telescopes. It is made out of Birch and simple hardware from OSH. It took about two days to put together. The tracking is pretty good, but could be made better by using a pivoted drive bolt or by going to a two arm design. I used it to track the pics of Hale-Bopp in the Image Gallery.
